Privacy Policy
Atlas ("the app", available at atlastodo.com) is a personal task-planning tool. This policy describes what data the app handles and how.
What we collect
- Account information. Your email address, display name, and optional profile photo, used to create and secure your account.
- Your content. The branches, tasks, notes, routines, plans, and scores you create in the app. This data is stored in a Postgres database (hosted on Neon) and is only accessible to your own account — access is enforced per user at the database level.
- Local preferences. Some settings (theme, timer configuration, display preferences) are stored only in your browser and never leave your device.
Google user data
If you choose to connect your Google account, Atlas requests the minimum access it needs:
- Sign in with Google uses your basic profile (name, email) solely to create and sign in to your Atlas account.
- Google Calendar access is used to (a) display your existing events as read-only "busy" overlays while you plan, and (b) write your planned Atlas sessions onto a dedicated "Atlas" calendar the app creates. Atlas can only write to that app-created calendar.
- Gmail access is limited to inbox label counts (total and unread threads) to show an "inbox cleared" indicator. Atlas never reads, lists, sends, or modifies any email message.
Google access tokens live only in your browser for the duration of your session and are never stored on a server. Calendar and email data is displayed to you in the moment and is not copied into Atlas's database, sold, or shared with anyone.
Atlas's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
What we don't do
- We do not sell or share your data with third parties.
- We do not use your data for advertising.
- We do not use Google user data to train AI or machine-learning models.
Service providers
Atlas runs on Vercel (hosting) and Neon (database and authentication). Your data is processed by these providers only to operate the app.
Deleting your data
Deleting branches or tasks in the app permanently removes them from the database. To delete your entire account and all associated data, or to disconnect Google access, contact us at the address below. You can also revoke Atlas's Google access at any time from your Google Account permissions.
